Founded in 1998, EnerQuality's mission is to transform Ontario's housing into the most energy efficient and sustainable in the world.
EnerQuality introduced the ENERGY STAR for New Homes initiative in Ontario in April 2005 and is a licensed service organization with Natural Resources Canada to deliver the program.
Helping Ontario Homebuilders
Through three main initiatives, EnerQuality promotes energy efficient housing in Ontario:
- CERTIFICATION: Our labeling programs provide the quality assurance that makes it easy to find an energy efficient or green home.
- TRAINING: We train builders, trades and professionals in the products and practices of energy efficiency and green building. To see our current workshop schedule, visit www.enerquality.ca.
- CONSULTING: We work closely with builders to help them adopt energy efficient building practices.
Working closely with the provincial and federal governments (Natural Resources Canada, Ontario Power Authority) and partners (Dupont Tyvek, Enbridge Gas, Owens Corning, Reliance Home Comfort, and Union Gas) EnerQuality is committed to being a driving force behind efforts to improve the way new homes are built for Ontario home buyers.
